Lava stone, brass and yarn

This series of works was inspired by a sacred rock in a nearby shrine to which the ancients had drilled a hole in the shape of the Big Dipper.
The appeal of rock bonsais lie in the multiple gaps, including the swing of the time axis, where hard and still minerals, reminiscent of long years and journeys, coexist with soft, flexible mosses and plants that change from day to day. This work is an attempt to embrace the mythology of the constellations and the rock bonsai landscape.
